Naomi Brodner was born and raised in Southeast Portland. She’s been oil painting and working in collage for over a decade, and making art for as long as she can remember. Having grown up somewhere in the crossfire of Jewish mysticism, former Deadheads and the West Coast punk scene, her work makes contact with, and reaches beyond, her roots. Brodner is both formally trained as a painter and an autodidact; she spent time studying at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, but even more in the Victorian attics and concrete basements she’s called her studios. When she's not painting, she plays the drums and travels the world, tornadoes at her heels.
To get to studios 36 & 37 take Alpine west and turn right onto 8th Street. As soon as you see
N. Boulder Park, turn right onto the park alley road. (If you get to 7th Street you've gone too far.) Studios are in the rear of the 4th house backing right up to the park.
